Purple Palette

Purple is the colour of royalty and majesty. It was very fashionable in the early 1990s, and is becoming more and more fashionable again. Both light and dark purples are used at any time of the year, although light purples are a bit more common in summer than winter. Purple is often paired with itself; it is common to see three or even four shades of purple in one colour palette.

Light purples, like lilac and lavender, pair well with light yellows, like wheat or brush. If you're looking for something dramatic, try fuchsia, pale lilac, and black. If black isn't your thing, replace it with royal purple. Remember that purples go well together; use royal purple with dark, medium, or light lilac. Lilac also goes well with white.
