Blue is a soothing, relaxing colour. It is the colour of the sky and the sea, which makes it popular for beach weddings. Blue is found at weddings year round, with icy blues being particularly popular at winter affairs. Blue is also popular because it can be paired with so many other colours, including whites, creams, blacks, greys, greens, oranges, and purples.
If you're wanting a retro theme, pair robin's egg blue with black or dark chocolate. For an earthy palette, combine a light blue with sage and mocha. One of my favorite colour combinations is sky blue, mocha, and clementine. If you're not wild about orange, substitute the clementine for celadon. If you like navy, pair it with clementine or orange cream.
